Harry Potter Market: Present and Future

View Image

After the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," last week internetretailer.com decided to assess how successful the sales of Harry Potter merchandise will be now that the final movie has been released.  They interviewed several e-retailers who offer Harry Potter products.  Among them are costume e-retailers CostumeCraze.com, CenturyNovelty.com, ticket box office, Fandango.com, book and media sellers, BarnesandNoble.com, Indiqo.ca, and HarryPotterWallArt.com whose products consist life-size wall decals and Harry Potter posters.  The full article can be found here.

Sellers of Harry Potter products admitted that sales are quite pouring in right now.  The release of final Harry Potter movie has resulted in increased activity of Harry Potter fans.  Founder of HarryPotterWallArt.com Rick Barretto thinks that this will continue into 2012, but what about after that?  Will the Harry Potter market decline?  Rick Barretto does not believe that the end of the Harry Potter series means the end of Harry Potter popularity.  He compares the Harry Potter phenomenon with the Star Wars phenomenon..." fans will remain fans long after the movie leaves the theater".

The founder of HarryPotterWallArt.com was interviewed at LeakyCon 2011, the non-official conference of Harry Potter fans, which took place last week in Orlando, Florida.  Images from the show are available for viewing at HarryPotterWallArt.com Facebook page.

Video Interview with J.K. Rowling about the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

A new video interview with J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter saga and the producer of the Harry Potter films, has just recently been released.  In this interview Rowling discusses the final Harry Potter movie.

J.K. Rowling described "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," as a war movie, with a huge amount of action.  There are also some sublime moments for the main Harry Potter characters (the author called them the big seven: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and Draco Malfoy.)  She admitted that in her opinion, this Harry Potter movie is probably the best.

Rowling also shared her point of view on the three main Harry Potter actors: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson; and their relation to their characters: Harry, Ron, and Hermione respectively.  She said that they are fantastic people and that it is hard to find someone as bright, nice and grounded as they are.

A new interview with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) from E!News has appeared online.  The video is approximately four minutes, and covers interesting topics about "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," as well as the experiences of Daniel Radcliffe.

Daniel described the years spent filming The Harry Potter franchise as a learning process.  He said that there is no better way to learn something than by doing it, and there were many great adult actors who helped him a lot in this.

Radcliffe has already seen the final Harry Potter film in 2-D and admitted that he was very pleased.  Daniel said that this movie is very good, and that he is very proud of it.  In discussing the scene where Ron and Hermione are kissing, Daniel is sure that it will get a big applause from the audience.
